On January 8, 1947, David Robert Jones was born in Brixton, London. Margaret Mary “Peggy” was born in the Shorncliffe Army Camp, close to Cheriton, Kent. Originally from Manchester, Ireland, her paternal grandparents were immigrants. She played a waiter in a movie shot in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Bowie appeared in more than 30 films, TV series, and stage productions during the course of his career. In an earlier interview, he compared his acting to “splashing in the kids’ pool” and claimed that his acting choices were “productively selective,” giving cameos and supporting roles precedence over lead roles.

Bowie received praise for his unmasked performance as Joseph Merrick in the Broadway version of The Elephant Man from July 1980 to January 1981.

Bowie played the neighbor of a 12-year-old boy who was on the verge of death in Mr. Rice’s Secret. In Ben Stiller’s comedy Zoolander from 2001 and in Eric Idle’s mockumentary The Rutles 2: Can’t Buy Me Lunch from 2002, Bowie played himself as the judge in a “walk-off” amongst competing male models.

Without a doubt, David Bowie was a significant force in popular music during the 1970s and 1980s. He is also one of the many famous people who have had cosmetic dental work done. In the early 1990s, he had a set of crowns inserted in place of his infamously crooked teeth.
